Today, in the Universal Catholic Church, we are celebrating Pentecost Sunday. In order to sanctify and make this day all the more holy, let us recall that the Church (according to The Handbook of Indulgences: Norms and Grants) offers us the following: A partial indulgence is granted the Christian faithful who devoutly recite the hymn, Veni, Creator, which we find in our missalettes. The indulgence will be a plenary one when this hymn is recited publicly on the first day of January and on the Solemnity of Pentecost. In order to receive a plenary indulgence, one must do the following:

1) Go to confession 8 days before Pentecost Sunday;

2) Pray for the intentions of the Holy Father on Pentecost Sunday;

3) Receive Holy Communion in the State of Grace on Pentecost Sunday;

4) One must be entirely free from all attachment to sin, even venial sin.

This means one has no deliberate desire to commit a particular sin, and is willing to renounce it.

Just as surely as the wind of the Holy Spirit blew through the Upper Room into the hearts of the faithful the fire of God’s love and transformed the face of the earth, so also the love of the Holy Spirit has been blown into our hearts! Let us praise God on this Solemnity of Pentecost!

May the wind of the Holy Spirit fill our HOMES accompanied by this prayer: Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created. And you shall renew the face of the earth. Come, Holy Spirit!!!

Hoy, en la Iglesia Católica Universal, celebramos el Domingo de Pentecostés. Para santificar y hacer de este día algo aún más sagrado, recordemos que la Iglesia (según el *Manual de Indulgencias: Normas y Concesiones*) nos ofrece lo siguiente: Se concede una indulgencia parcial al fiel cristiano que recite devotamente el himno *Veni, Creator*, el cual encontramos en nuestros misales. La indulgencia será plenaria cuando este himno se recite públicamente el primer día de Enero y en la Solemnidad de Pentecostés. Para recibir una indulgencia plenaria, se debe cumplir con lo siguiente:

1) Confesarse 8 días antes del Domingo de Pentecostés;

2) Rezar por las intenciones del Santo Padre el Domingo de Pentecostés;

3) Recibir la Sagrada Comunión en estado de gracia el Domingo de Pentecostés;

4) Estar totalmente libre de todo apego al pecado, incluso al pecado venial.

Esto significa no tener ningún deseo deliberado de cometer un pecado en particular, y estar dispuesto a renunciar a él.

¡Tan ciertamente como el viento del Espíritu Santo sopló a través del Cenáculo, infundiendo el fuego del amor de Dios a los corazones de los fieles y transformando la faz de la tierra, así también el amor del Espíritu Santo ha sido derramado en nuestros corazones! ¡Alabemos a Dios en esta Solemnidad de Pentecostés!

Que el viento del Espíritu Santo llene nuestros HOGARES, acompañado de esta oración: Ven, Espíritu Santo, llena los corazones de tus fieles y enciende en ellos el fuego de tu amor. Envía tu Espíritu y serán creados. Y renovarás la faz de la tierra. ¡¡¡Ven, Espíritu Santo!!!
