Greetings in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ!

In today’s Gospel, the disciples find themselves in the middle of a storm. The wind is strong, the waves are high, and fear fills their hearts. But Jesus comes to them and says, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” His words remind us that even when life feels difficult and uncertain, the Lord is always near.

Peter shows great faith when he steps out of the boat and walks toward Jesus. However, when he takes his eyes off the Lord and focuses on the strong wind, he becomes afraid and begins to sink. In that moment, he cries out, “Lord, save me!” and Jesus immediately reaches out His hand to rescue him.

Like the disciples, we also face storms in our lives: moments of fear, family problems, sickness, financial worries, uncertainty, struggles, disappointments, and many other challenges. Sometimes we allow our worries to become greater than our trust in God. This Gospel teaches us that our strength comes from keeping our eyes on Jesus and believing that He walks with us through every difficulty. Jesus does not promise that we will never face storms, but He promises that we will never face them alone. His loving hand is always ready to lift us up when we fall, and His presence gives us hope and courage.

Let us keep our eyes fixed on Christ rather than on our fears. By trusting in His love and remaining close to Him through prayer, we will find peace even in the midst of life's storms.

May we always remember His promise: "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid."

May we continue to deepen our faith, trust in God’s love, and remember that with Christ beside us, every storm can be overcome.

En el Evangelio de hoy, los discípulos se encuentran en medio de una tormenta. El viento sopla con fuerza, las olas son altas y el miedo llena sus corazones. Pero Jesús se acerca a ellos y les dice: “Tranquilícense y no teman. Soy yo”. Sus palabras nos recuerdan que, aun cuando la vida parece difícil e incierta, el Señor está siempre cerca.

Pedro demuestra una gran fe cuando baja de la barca y camina hacia Jesús. Sin embargo, al apartar la mirada del Señor y centrarse en el fuerte viento, siente miedo y comienza a hundirse. En ese instante, clama: “¡Sálvame, Señor!”, y Jesús extiende inmediatamente su mano para rescatarlo.

Al igual que los discípulos, nosotros también enfrentamos tormentas en nuestras vidas: momentos de miedo, problemas familiares, enfermedades, preocupaciones económicas, incertidumbre, luchas, decepciones y muchos otros desafíos. A veces permitimos que nuestras preocupaciones sean mayores que nuestra confianza en Dios. Este Evangelio nos enseña que nuestra fortaleza proviene de mantener la mirada puesta en Jesús y de creer que Él camina con nosotros a través de cada dificultad. Jesús no promete que nunca enfrentaremos tormentas, pero sí promete que nunca las afrontaremos solos. Su mano amorosa está siempre dispuesta a levantarnos cuando caemos, y su presencia nos infunde esperanza y valentía.

Mantengamos la mirada fija en Cristo en lugar de en nuestros temores. Al confiar en su amor y permanecer cerca de Él mediante la oración, encontraremos paz incluso en medio de las tormentas de la vida. Recordemos siempre su promesa: “Tranquilícense y no teman. Soy yo”. Sigamos profundizando nuestra fe, confiando en el amor de Dios y recordando que, con Cristo a nuestro lado, toda tormenta puede superarse.
