Today we celebrate EPIPHANY Sunday! Epiphany means the “Manifestation of the Divine Nature of Jesus to the Gentiles,” as is represented by the Three Wise Men traditionally known as Caspar or Gaspar, Balthasar and Melchior.

   According to Armenian Tradition, Caspar was from India, Balthasar was from Arabia, and Melchior was from Persia, and according to later belief, Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar came from three continents then known to those living in the Mediterranean world: Africa, Asia and Europe.

   What is most important to remember about the Epiphany of our Lord Jesus is that Jesus offered His Covenant to the Gentiles, that is to ALL People who were not Israelites, as well as offered His Covenant to the Israelites, who were looked upon as the Chosen Race according to the Old Testament.

   With this in mind, we are called today to ACCEPT Jesus Christ as our personal Lord, God and Savior, alongside the Three Wise Men, and to offer Him the Gift of Ourselves in a three-fold manner:

  Gold was given to a king, and we give to Jesus, our Only True King, our Mind, Body, Soul and Spirit!    Frankincense was given to a deity (i.e. god or goddess), and we lift up our INCENSE/PRAYERS to Jesus as the God of gods. Jesus is our only True God!    Myrrh was given to show suffering, and therefore it predicted Jesus as the Suffering Servant who would SAVE HUMANKIND from our sins. Our response is that we lift up our sufferings in union with HIS, so that our suffering becomes meritorious.

   ¡Hoy celebramos el Domingo de EPIFANÍA! Epifanía significa la “Manifestación de la Naturaleza Divina de Jesús a los gentiles”, como lo representan los tres Reyes Magos tradicionalmente conocidos como Gaspar, Baltasar y Melchor.

   Según la tradición Armenia, Gaspar era de la India, Baltasar era de Arabia y Melchor era de Persia, y según creencias posteriores, Gaspar, Melchor y Baltasar procedían de tres continentes entonces conocidos por quienes vivían en el mundo mediterráneo: África, Asia y Europa.

   Lo más importante a recordar acerca de la Epifanía de nuestro Señor Jesús es que Jesús ofreció Su Pacto a los Gentiles, es decir a TODOS los Pueblos que no eran Israelitas, así como también ofreció Su Pacto a los Israelitas, quienes eran considerados como la raza elegida según el Antiguo Testamento.

   Teniendo esto en cuenta, estamos llamados hoy a ACEPTAR a Jesucristo como nuestro Señor, Dios y Salvador, junto con los Reyes Magos, y a ofrecerle el don de Nosotros mismos de una triple manera:

   ¡El oro fue dado a un rey, y nosotros le damos a Jesús, nuestro Único Rey Verdadero, nuestra Mente, Cuerpo, Alma y Espíritu!

   El incienso fue dado a una deidad (es decir, dios o diosa), y elevamos nuestro INCIENSO/ORACIONES a Jesús como el Dios de dioses. ¡Jesús es nuestro único Dios verdadero!

   La mirra fue dada para mostrar el sufrimiento y, por lo tanto, predijo a Jesús como el Siervo sufriente que SALVARÍA a la HUMANIDAD de nuestros pecados. Nuestra respuesta es que elevamos nuestros sufrimientos en unión con los suyos, para que nuestro sufrimiento se vuelva meritorio.
