Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
In the story from this Sunday’s gospel found in the 12th chapter of Luke, a man’s harvest yields more than expected, and rather than sharing his blessings, he chooses to build bigger barns to store it all. He says, “Eat, drink, be merry!” But God responds, “You fool, this night your life will be demanded of you.”
This parable isn’t about condemning wealth — it’s about reminding us that our true security lies in God, not in possessions. The question is not how much we have, but how we use it. Are we generous? Are we using what we’ve been given to bless others? Are we growing rich in the things of God — love, mercy, faith, and service?
We invite you to grow rich in the things of God by joining us on the upcoming pilgrimage to San Antonio, taking place August 18–22. This journey offers a time of spiritual renewal, fellowship, and connection with the rich Catholic heritage of Texas.
We will depart from St. Patrick Church following the 8:15 a.m. Mass on Monday, August 18th. We are looking forward to celebrating Mass at some of the following locations:
St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fredericksburg, TX; San Fernando Cathedral, San José Mission, the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower, all in San Antonio, TX. We plan to return home to Oklahoma City between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22nd. Please contact Gaby at 405-947-2275 for more details.
Deadline for signing up is Monday, August 4th. I encourage you to prayerfully consider joining us. This pilgrimage is not only a journey of miles, but of faith—a special time to grow in prayer, community, and devotion.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,
En la historia del evangelio de este domingo, que se encuentra en el capítulo 12 de Lucas, la cosecha de un hombre rinde más de lo esperado y, en lugar de compartir sus bendiciones, elige construir graneros más grandes para almacenarlo todo. En el Evangelio, se nos recuerda constantemente acerca de las riquezas, los tesoros y el dar. Se nos recuerda que Dios es nuestra fuente de todo. Por lo tanto, todo lo que poseemos le pertenece a Él. GROUP CHILDREN FOR CHRIST OUR GOOD SHEPHERD
All children ages 6-12 years old are invited to join our group. We will learn all about our beautiful catholic faith and practices. The children participate in the Mass on the first Sunday of each month at the 12:00 Mass, and the meetings are on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm.
