THANK YOU ALL for your words of encouragement, prayers, friendship, love and monetary gifts acknowledging this las week as our Priest Appreciation Week!!! On behalf of Father Long and myself, we THANK you for having shared yourselves with us!!!  You have all been a tremendous blessing to us!

On April 21st, I met with the Pastoral Council. The Council Members made a recommendation to remove the Statue of Our Lady Seat of Wisdom from the Main Courtyard Entrance of the Church and move it where Our Lady of Guadalupe Statue is located now, which is in the Chapel's entrance. After the consensus was reached, I accepted their recommendation. This recommendation came due to the following:

1. Since our Church Demographic has changed dramatically over the years, Our Lady of Guadalupe Statue speaks more eloquently and lovingly to the more diverse presence of cultures here at our church. Why? Our Lady of Guadalupe is the Patroness of the Americas, and is therefore, a more fitting statue in the Church's principal entrance. As a result, we believe Our Lady of Guadalupe will receive far more veneration thatn the Strue of Our Lady Seat of Wisdom.
2. Since there will be more veneration and a desire for votive candles to be available, we will place a tiered Votive Candle Stand that will accommodate many candles for a special intention. There will also be a votive candle machine placed near the statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Why is this important? There have been glass encased candles placed in Mary's Garden frequently, and some have fallen and broken, thereby creating a liability for our church, since children can cut themselves on the broken glass.
3. We will make changes by the end of May.

On April 21st, the Pastoral Council and Finance Council Members reached the consensus that we will use the One Church, Many Disciples Campaign Funds to pay off our HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) System Loan, so that we may be debt free. I thank your for your financial generosity, because without your monetary support, this would not be possible.

May we go forth this week with hearts untroubled, anchored in Christ, and confident in His promises.

  ¡GRACIAS A TODOS por sus palabras de ánimo, oraciones, amistad, amor y regalos monetarios reconociendo esta última semana como nuestra Semana de Apreciación al Sacerdote! En nombre del Padre Long y mío. ¡LES AGRADECEMOS por haberse compartido con nosotros! ¡Todos ustedes han sido una tremenda bendición para nosotros!

El 21 de Abril, me reuní con el Consejo Pastoral. Los miembros del Consejo hicieron una recomendación para remover la Estatua de Nuestra Señora, Sede de la Sabiduría, de la entrada principal del patio de la Iglesia y moverla al lugar donde actualmente se encuentra la Estatua de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, que es en la entrada de la Capilla. Después de alcanzar el consenso, acepté su recomendación. Esta recomendación se dio debido a lo siguiente:

1. Dado que la demografía de nuestra iglesia ha cambiado dramáticamente a lo largo de los años, la estatua de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe habla de manera más elocuente y amorosa a la presencia más diversa de culturas aquí en nuestra iglesia. ¿Por qué? Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe es la Patrona de las Américas y, por lo tanto, es una estatua más adecuada para la entrada principal de la iglesia. Como resultado, creemos que Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe recibirá mucha más veneración que la estatua de Nuestra Señora Sede de la Sabiduría.
2. Dado que habrá más veneración y un deseo de que las velas votivas estén disponibles, colocaremos un portavelas votivo de varios niveles que podrá albergar muchas velas para una intención especial. También se colocará una máquina de velas votivas cerca de la estatua de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. ¿Por qué es esto importante? Con frecuencia se han colocado velas envasadas en vidrio en el Jardín de María, y algunas se han caído y roto, creando así una responsabilidad para nuestra iglesia, ya que los niños podrían cortarse con los vidrios rotos.
3. Haremos los cambios para finales de Mayo.

El 21 de Abril, los miembros del Consejo Pastoral y del Consejo de Finanzas llegaron al consenso de que usaremos los fondos de la campaña Una Iglesia, Muchos Discípulos para pagar nuestro préstamo del sistema HVAC (Calefacción, Ventilación y Aire Acondicionado), para que podamos estar libres de deudas. Les agradezco por su generosidad financiera, porque sin su apoyo monetario, esto no sería posible.

Que podamos avanzar esta semana con corazones sin inquietud, anclados en Cristo y confiados en Sus promesas.
