PRAYER AND LIFE WORKSHOP
A Prayer and Life Workshop is a practical method for learning to pray in a variety of ways while deepening personal spirituality.
This workshop has been offered in parishes throughout the Archdiocese and will be conducted in English only.

Location: Room 2-20
Duration: 15 weekly, two-hour sessions
Cost: Free

August 15th marks the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven both body and soul. Why does the Roman Catholic Church celebrate this magnanimous event? In 1950, Pope Pius XII formally defined the Assumption as a dogma (i.e. defined doctrine) in the Apostolic Constitution Munificentissimus Deus, declaring that Mary, having completed her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.
The Assumption highlights Mary’s unique role as the Mother of Jesus and her freedom from sin, which allowed her to be spared from the corruption of death. Therefore, this belief in Mary’s assumption serves as a sign of hope for all believers, pointing to the ultimate destiny of humanity: resurrection and eternal life with God. Mary’s glorified body anticipates the resurrection promised to all!
The Solemnity is celebrated on August 15th each year, and is a Holy Day of Obligation in many countries, including the United States. If, however, August 15th falls on a Monday or Saturday, the obligation may be waived, which is what happens in the United States. Our Lady of the Assumption, pray for us.

El 15 de Agosto se celebra la solemnidad de la Asunción de María al cielo en cuerpo y alma. ¿Por qué la Iglesia Católica Romana celebra este acontecimiento tan grandioso? En 1950, el Papa Pío XII definió formalmente la Asunción como dogma (es decir, doctrina definida) en la Constitución Apostólica Munificentissimus Deus, declarando que María, al terminar su vida terrenal, fue elevada en cuerpo y alma a la gloria celestial.
La Asunción destaca el papel único de María como Madre de Jesús y su libertad frente al pecado, lo que le permitió librarse de la corrupción de la muerte. Por lo tanto, esta creencia en la asunción de María es para todos los creyentes un signo de esperanza, que señala el destino final de la humanidad: la resurrección y la vida eterna con Dios. ¡El cuerpo glorificado de María anticipa la resurrección prometida a todos!
Esta solemnidad se celebra cada año el 15 de Agosto y es día de precepto en muchos países, incluidos los Estados Unidos. CONSTRUCTION CAMPAIGN FUND UPDATE
The second collection for the Construction Fund will take place on the second and fourth weekends of each month. There will be NO collection July 25 and 26, 2026. These collections will help cover the costs of the rectory bathroom, the remodeling of the parish kitchen, and the Parish Hall and its bathrooms. As of August 10, 2026, we have raised a total of $110,266.58. We thank everyone for your generosity and continued support.

NO HABRÁ segunda colecta para el Fondo de Construcción este cuarto fin de semana del 25 y 26 de Julio del 2026. Esta colecta ayuda a cubrir los costos del baño de la rectoría, la renovación de la cocina parroquial, así como del Salón Parroquial y sus baños. Spanish: After the 12:00 noon Mass
All ushers are encouraged to attend the training in their respective language. We are also still in need of volunteers to serve as ushers at Mass. If you are interested in serving this important ministry, please come to the training.!
LECTORS NEEDED! Our parish is seeking volunteers to serve as Lectors for Saturday 5:00 pm Mass. Lectors have the privilege of proclaiming the Word of God during the Liturgy of the Word, helping our parish community prayerfully celebrate the Eucharist.
